Newt Catching at Boston Lot Lake

Josh has Friday mornings free so we usually try to do something fun as a family. Luckily the weather is warm enough and the trails are dry enough that we can finally take advantage of all the nearby hiking trails! Its funny because all winter I kept thinking how anxious I was to leave New Hampshire, but now that it's warm and we've been hiking every week I am dreading leaving this beautiful place! I guess that's how it always goes :)
Mya loves hanging out in the backpack as long as she's got a good snack.
Boston Lot lake - we are going to miss this place when we move! There's a trail that goes directly from our neighborhood to the lake (it's about a 15-20 minute hike) or there's an even shorter trail down the road  (about a 10-15 min hike) and that's the one we usually do with the girls.

The highlight of the day for these two was catching newts. Bryn was in absolute heaven but I think Josh was loving it even more! Catching newts is exactly how he'd like to spend his mornings off :)
Kind of gross, but if you look closely you can see a little newt head popping out of Bryn's fist.
Bryn was pretty bummed that she couldn't bring them home as pets, so we'll have to go back to the lake soon.
